CO2 Transport and Storage Summary
Carbon Dioxide Transport and Storage Summary - Part 1
Carbon dioxide storage is an integral element in the reduction of fossil fuel power emissions. Many elements of compression, transport and storage are mature technologies.

- Carbon dioxide storage is an essential element of the reduction of emissions from fossil based power generation.
- Carbon capture and storage consists of four components: Capture, Transportation, Utilisation and Storage.
- Carbon dioxide compression is a mature technology. While there are multi methods to compress carbon dioxide - centrifugal and reciprocating compressors are the most commonly used.
- Pipeline transportation of carbon dioxide is a mature technology and is likely to be most common transportation method. Initial developments may also use marine transportation methods.
